Always a leader in a local organizing effort, Stephanie Fitzharris has lived in the Austin area since 1979. She moved to the Lake Travis area in 2000. She was an active committee member of the Lake Travis Democrats. She has served locally as President of the Lake Travis Fire Rescue Community Foundation, and was a Precinct Captain for OFA.
During her participation as Precinct Captain for OFA (Obama’s Organizing for America), she campaigned nationwide in Asheville North Carolina and throughout Texas for the 2008 Presidential campaign. She also served on the “Fight the Smears” effort nationally. Stephanie created a Lake Travis community wide effort with the “MLK Day of Service Trash Pick Up Day”, created a program to work with the Lake Travis Theater department donating time and skill as a special project in designing and building sets with the art, theater arts and tech theater classes for the annual high school musical.
Additionally, she was a member of the TCDP and worked as assistant Precinct Chair of 359 during the 2008 and 2012 elections. She has registered voters in our community, organized dozens of events and is the founder of the Indivisible Facebook group TX25 Indivisible We Stand, which boasts over 450 members and organizes events and rallies concerning the TX 25 District.
She is the co-owner and operator of Fitzharris & Company, a design build construction company, has three children, one of which is currently attending Lake Travis High School.
